Do you know anyone considering registering their child at Heather Park next year? Please let them know that there are tours for parents interested in seeing our school in action. Tours are taking place at 11:00 AM on Mondays and Wednesday on January 24, 26 and 31. Please contact the school to book a tour. Additionally, there is a French parent information night for parents interested in finding out more about the French program Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at 7pm. Also, the online student transfer process will open at 9:00 am on Monday, February 7 and will close at 3:00 pm on March 18th.
Fundraising Update – Raffle
The PAC will be doing a raffle starting on January 31 to February 14, with a draw date of February 25th.
We will be raffling off 4 hockey tickets to a Vancouver Canucks game, airfare for 4, and hotel accommodation. There will be 800 books of tickets, 10 tickets per book, $2/ticket. Each book will also have an extra ticket at the back, and for each student that sells a full book they will be able to enter a draw for a sports package.
Kindergarten / grade one students will have a letter sent home with them asking for parental permission for sending a book of tickets home. All other students will receive a book of tickets in class.
Fundraising Update – Purdy’s
The Purdy’s Easter Catalogue is being sent out the 2nd week of March, closing the end of March. We will need volunteer help in collecting and organizing the order forms.
School Planning Council
On February 9th, the PAC will be holding elections for the School Planning Council. Interested in running? We need you! Through these Councils, parents partner with educators in planning for improvement of student achievement in our schools. Every SPC includes three representatives of the school PAC, elected by the PAC. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
