This Friday, February 25, Heather Park is hosting its first open
basketball tournament. Teams will be joining us from four
other schools around the city. The finals will be played
between 4-6 PM on the full court, and we hope our Heather
Park teams will be in there.
Spirit Day – Wear School T-shirt
Let’s show off the beautiful T-shirts provided by our PAC this
week by wearing them on tournament day this Friday.
Concession this Friday
As part of our basketball tournament, the PAC will run a full
concession with pizza by the slice and 6” pre-made Subway
sandwiches. The concession will be open to everyone.
As part of the festivities, Heather Park will host a dance for
tournament players and volunteers from 8:00 – 9:30 in our
gym. The dance includes a professional DJ. Non-players may
buy a ticket for $5.00 each. Tickets will be on sale
Wednesday and Thursday this week at lunch in the front
Mr. Fleck wants to thank the parents, friends and Heather
Park office staff for all their extra effort to get our skating
program off the ground. For the second week in a row, there
has been close to seventy children on the ice learning to skate
or improve their skating. Our next time on the ice is March
18 at 1:30 PM.
PRIMARY REPORT WRITING DAY – 25TH
Students in grades K-3 will remain at home this Friday while
their teachers prepare term 2 reports.
Thanks go out to all parents in the PAC for the subsidy of our
new shirts that started arriving today. Michelle Lachapelle
deserves a BIG HERO COOKIE for her work collecting orders
and delivering shirts to classrooms.
In a couple of weeks, we will be selling a wide variety of
Heather Park Hero wear. Stay tuned for more!!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AT RECESS AND LUNCH
Parent volunteers needed asap! Mrs. McLachlan, parent
volunteers, and Leadership Kids are still looking for extra parents to
assist with the MPR program (multipurpose room games and
activities for primary students only at recess and lunch). A time
commitment of approximately 15 – 20 minutes is needed on a one-
time-a-week session at recess or lunch (eg. you could volunteer at
recess on Tuesdays only). The Leadership Kids assist parent
volunteers with each session, as well as Mrs. McLachlan is available
to assist parents with games/ideas/activities. The kids love the MPR
program, but we need YOUR help to continue to provide the
program. If you are interested, please contact EHPES (250-962-
1811) and ask for Donna McLachlan or contact the school’s PAC as
soon as possible. Thank you. Also we want to extend a huge THANK
YOU to all the parents who have been volunteering since
December for the MPR program. Your time, commitment, and
enthusiasm are very much appreciated by the students and the
staff. Thank you for making a difference at Ecole Heather Park
