EDUCATION PLANNING
Parents are invited to meet with Mr. Fleck and school staff tomorrow afternoon (April 5, 2011) at 4 PM in the Library to discuss long term education goals for our school community. The meeting will be limited to one hour.  The purpose of the discussion is to explore how to include district and provincial goals in Heather Park’s plans for enhancing learning opportunities in our school. Child care will be provided.

HOCKEY ACADEMY
The Hockey Academy Students have just finished off an amazing year and we are looking forward to next year. We are still accepting applications for Grade 4 – 7’s. for next September. Applications are in the office or please feel free to contact Bev Schreiner at 250-962-1811 or bschreiner@sd57.bc.ca

SOAP DISPENSERS IN WASHROOMS
Last week Mr. Fleck and Mr. Watt reminded all students to treat our washrooms with respect. One of the concerns over the past months has been that students squirted liquid soap all over the counter and walls.  As a result, the dispensers were not always filled. Parents and students expressed concerns about how to keep hands clean and avoid illness without soap.  For our part, the school will make sure the soap is topped up all the time.  It would be great if parents could reinforce the importance of hand-washing and keeping our washrooms clean.

CLASSROOM PICTURES TOMORROW!
Students should remember to wash behind their ears and dress in their Sunday best outfits for tomorrow’s class picture day (April 5).

GRADE 1 FRENCH IMMERSION
It is still possible for kindergarten students to transfer into French Immersion in the grade one year.  French Immersion is a great program that provides numerous educational benefits to students and families.  For more information,
please contact Mr. Fleck in our office.
