THE BIG SHOW – GR 7 PARTY (JUNE 23)
To celebrate their last year in Heather Park, we are planning a special dance party for grade sevens called “The Big Show”. Music will be played by a professional DJ with lasers other dance fun. Students must come dressed as their favourite music performer. In addition, we have invited any group of grade sevens who want to prepare a lipsync (air band) performance of a pop song. Groups will perform in the gym on June 16. The best groups will get the chance to do their act on stage at “The Big Show” on June 23rd.
Tickets for this event are five dollars and will be on sale in the foyer at lunch each day, starting tomorrow.
Parents interested in helping out should contact Bev Schreiner at firstname.lastname@example.org. We need chaperones and concession helpers.
PARKING AND DROPPING OFF SAFELY
Parents and staff members at Heather Park wish to remind all visitors to our ground of the follow tips to traffic safety.
1. Please DO NOT stop in the middle of crosswalks to drop students.
2. The bus loop is for buses, deliveries, persons with disabilities and emergency vehicles only.
3. Please do not park in handicapped parking areas.
4. The best places to drop off students are in front of the staff parking lot and at the Elks Centre.
5. Please keep vehicle speed below 30 km/hour at all times around the school.

PEDESTRIAN AND VEHICLE TRAFFIC REVIEW
On Thursday, May 19, many parents joined us to review the DRAFT plans for improving our traffic and parking situation. After collecting input from the school and parents our property maintenance department is going to tweak the plans in consultation with the City of Prince George and L&M Engineering. The district’s intention is to complete improvements this summer.
SPORTS DAY – JUNE 17
Sports day is on June 17. A committee comprised of teachers from all grades has elected to have Gr. 6’s run the day, and K-5 classes participate. Gr. 7 classes will not be participating in the morning, but will have the option of a school-wide hot lunch and will be participating in the afternoon tug-o-war event. Games may include a spoon and egg race, a water balloon toss, a parachute station, a dress up race, etc. Many of the games will focus on gross motor activities such as balancing, throwing & catching, cooperation, body and space awareness and locomotor skills. We welcome your support if you’d like to help out during the day.
