PAC Fundraiser Coming Soon
This week students will be coming home with two letters for the Purdy’s and Regal PAC Winter Fundraisers. Please keep your eyes out for these letters which contain important information on how you can participate in some fundraising for your school PAC.
LAST YEAR THE CANUCKS RAFFLE RAISED OVER $15,000 FOR AN INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND… Now wouldn’t you want to be part of that?! The PAC needs a volunteer (coordinator), or a group of volunteers to organize the February 2014 raffle in order for it to go ahead. This is a concentrated commitment over a few weeks in January and February, with some additional prep earlier. We have some great people with experience from past raffles who will be there to help. For this fundraiser to go ahead, a need a group of volunteers signed on by the November PAC Meeting on November 20, 2013. Please email Gina at email@example.com if you are interested.
The next Heather Park PAC Meeting is November 20th at 6:45pm. Come out and meet School Board Trustee- Brenda Hooker and ask any questions you have about the School District #57 Board of Trustees. Also at the meeting we will be having a Principal and Teacher’s Forum where it is your chance to ask Steve Fleck and Tanya Goodwin and Rebeca Dougherty any questions you might have about the school, curriculum, or anything else that you have been wanting to ask or discuss.
A THANK YOU TO ALL THE VOLUNTEERS WHO SPENT TIME IN THE SCHOOL THIS MONTH. YOUR TIME AND ENERGY MAKES A DIFFERENCE!!
Movie Night Fundraiser
The Movie night Fundraiser was a huge success! Below is a personal thank you from the Saulters Family.
To our incredible school community:
Thank you so much for the outpouring of love and generous support of our family. Thank you for coming beside us and carrying us along as Audrey continues her journey to health. We are so grateful for all of you!! Please don’t forget to donate blood … and then don’t forget to do it again 56 days later. By doing so, you are saving the lives of our friends.
With love, The Saulters Family
YMCA MEND Program
Mind Exercise Nutrition Do It! MEND empowers children and families to become fitter and healthier. This free program is fun and interactive and supports children in two age groups: 7-13 and new for Prince George, children ages 5 – 7 and their families to adopt a healthy lifestyle. MEND is for children who are above a healthy weight (body mass index (BMI) of 85 per cent or higher). Parents/caregivers join their children in each session to learn about how to choose healthier foods and spend more time being physically active. Twice-weekly MEND sessions begin in January and are held at the YMCA. Call Cheryl at 250 562 9309 x 213 to learn more!
