Hallway Traffic

An important notice was posted to the website and send home with students in Pod A today regarding hallway traffic in the school before 2:25pm. Please read this notice and assist us in helping students remain focused and on task so everyone can make the most of learning time while at school.

Explorations

The first round of Explorations ended last week. There was a great article in The Prince George Free Press on Friday November 29th. Check it out! This Tuesday students will be starting in new remedial, enrichment, or life skills/art/recreation classes. We look forward to an exciting six weeks for Round 2!

Pink Day

On December 6, we will celebrate the life of our friend Kallie Hinton. Kallie passed away two years ago, leaving her legacy of hope and determination to live fully. We will honor her memory by wearing pink and having a dance in the gym at lunch. Kallie loved music and being with people having fun. Please wear pink and come ready to dance and smile and remember how Kallie brings out the best in all of us!

Heather Park Evening Dance

The dance on November 22nd was a huge hit! Students came and danced to the DJ’s music, enjoyed the lights, visited the concession, and won prizes!
We will be holding another dance on December 13th from 7 to 9pm in the Multi-Purpose Room. This is a Christmas Themed Dance. Please come accessorized to celebrate the holiday season. The doors will open at 7pm. Students need to be picked up at 9pm. The dance will be open to all students in Grades 4-7 who attend Heather Park. Students from other schools and students not in Grades 4-7 will not be admitted.
The cost of admission is $8 per student, which will still also include a water and a candy bag. You may pre-pay at the office, or pay at the door the night of the dance. Come out and have some fun, enjoy the DJ, visit the concession, and win some prizes!

Dress for the Weather

The weather in Prince George is unpredictable! Please remember to dress for the weather. This includes snow pants, mitts, hats, coats, and boots. Sliding is often allowed at our school, but only for those students wearing snow pants. In days only occur when the temperature is below -17 degrees Celsius, or there is drastic weather.
Positive Behaviour Support
In an effort to maintain positive behavior at Heather Park, we are focusing on ways to maintain healthy relationships. Ms. Callaghan will be offering ad hock small groups at various times throughout the year that will focus on friendships, and your child may be included. If you do not want your child to be included in this please let the school know.
