Free Workshop Oppurtunity for Parents- Trauma Informed Practice Training

TRAUMA INFORMED PRACTICE TRAINING WORKSHOP

The training explores the evolution from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) to the latest information on the newer concept of Complex Trauma (Developmental Trauma Disorder); symptoms, criteria and risk factors. We also look at the basic neurobiology of trauma, including the effects on body and brain function. Implications for memory, learning, and emotional regulation are discussed as well as the connection between trauma and addictions.

The workshops and training sessions also look at the strong connection between affect regulation and Complex Trauma. Many children, youth, and adults who experience complex trauma have differences in the way they express emotion, regulate behaviour, learn, and relate interpersonally with others. We present strategies and interventions to assist these clients in living life less defined by trauma.
